CREATE UK are demonstrating the LCR circular economy in action through their latest reuse project. Since January 2018 the organisation has taken over collection of unwanted fridges and freezers from waste sites across the City Region. Using their expertise, CREATE UK have succeeded in repairing and reusing suitable items and keeping value in the City Region through retailing them at affordable prices at their store in Old Swan, Liverpool. 876 tonnes of cooling equipment have been repaired for reuse or recycled to date. The project has also generated 5 new jobs demonstrating the value of keeping products and resources circulating in the local economy.
