Merseyside Recycling and Waste Authority (MRWA) are pleased to announce the lifting of some restrictions at Sefton Meadows, Formby and Rainhill Household Waste Recycling Centres. From Monday 17th May 2021, residents wishing to use cars at those sites will no longer need to book an appointment. This change will be kept under review over the next few weeks.
Carl Beer, MRWA Chief Executive said: “We are removing the car booking system from Sefton Meadows, Formby and Rainhill Household Waste Recycling Centres in line with the lifting of some of the national pandemic restrictions, and the move to extended summer hours at all of our sites. The Recycling Centres are now open from 8.00am – 8.00pm giving residents extended time to recycle.
We would like to remind residents that if they intend to dispose of household waste using a van or large trailers they will still need to book an appointment online at www.merseysidewda.go.uk or if they do not have online access by calling Tel: 07774 787 340 / 07774 787 370 to visit any of the sites on Merseyside.
We’re pleased that some of the services we offer are returning to a level of normality – but we would ask the public to still maintain sensible health and safety measures when using our sites.”
“If you can, please wear a mask, and please respect the site staff and follow their instructions during your visit. Staff at the sites are unable to help residents with unloading and disposing of their waste. If you think that you will need help, you can have another person with you.”
*To book a van or large trailer in at any of our Centres go to: www.merseysidewda.gov.uk or if you do not have online access please call Tel: 07774 787 340 / 07774 787 370 – please note these lines can be very busy and it is not always possible to leave a message. Please keep trying and we’ll answer your call as soon as possible.
