In September, residents are invited to explore inside the facilities located in Wirral and Liverpool that sort recycling after it’s been collected.
A series of events are being hosted by Veolia, who manage the waste and recycling facilities in the region on behalf of Merseyside Recycling and Waste Authority.
Each location is offering free guided tours for people to discover how over 100,000 tonnes of recyclable material from homes in Liverpool, Knowsley, Sefton, Wirral and Halton is segregated for processing into new products, turning waste into a resource and helping us to build a sustainable future.
The tours will give people a chance to see behind the scenes and discover how a range of manual, optical and mechanical techniques turn the region’s waste into a resource. Afterwards there will be time to explore the Recycling Discovery Centres where there will be refreshments and information to help you recycle correctly.
Booking is essential. For the full list of tour times and locations and to book a place go to www.veolia.co.uk/merseyside-and-halton/events
