The Great Autumn Compost Giveaway

The newly established Merseyside Compost Network is giving away more than 100 tonnes of FREE soil improver and compost to residents across Merseyside…

The giveaway is part of a drive by Merseyside Waste Disposal Authority and District Councils across the region to raise awareness about green waste and recycling. The giveaway will take place at five venues across the Merseyside region.

Malcolm Clough, the lead officer for the new Merseyside Compost Network comments: “The new Network is a partnership between Merseyside Waste Disposal Authority and the five District Councils on Merseyside. We will be all working together to help raise the awareness of composting and also highlighting the benefits of recycling green waste either at your local Household Waste Recycling Centre or by using your Council’s kerbside collection.

“The Autumn Compost Giveaway will be just one of a range of initiatives we’re planning over the coming months for the general public – our plan is to raise the profile of composting and highlight the importance of diverting biodegradable waste like green and garden waste away from landfill sites.”
