The decisions about the Procurement Programme and new waste management facilities and contracts are complex.
The costs, benefits and implications - including health effects - of each bid will be thoroughly evaluated by the relevant officers and our financial, technical and legal advisors.
The objective will be to identify a preferred bidder based on the most acceptable combination of technology, sites, cost and a number of other evaluation criteria.
As well as working in partnership with each of the District Councils on Merseyside, MWDA is also made up of nine elected Members (local councillors) from each of the District Councils. The Authority will of course also have to put sites through the normal planning process, and the ultimate decision will be made by the local Planning Authority.
