How will the public be involved?

The nature of the Procurement Programme means that it is a fairly drawn out process.

There is a limit to how much public information we can provide about the detail of the proposals we are considering for reasons of commercial confidentiality. However, we will explain and justify any recommendation to proceed to a contract with any of the bidders in due course.

As the project progresses we will try to keep residents informed of developments in a variety of ways, including through our website and media announcements.

Any new facilities will require planning permission from the local Planning Authority and a waste permit from the Environment Agency. This will provide a further opportunity for local people’s views to be taken into account before any new facilities are built.
